The SoulCollage® Facilitator Training authorizes you to use the SoulCollage® method according to the Principles of SoulCollage® with clients as a part of your licensed practice.

SoulCollage Inc. is approved by the California Association of Marriage and Family Therapists to sponsor continuing education for LMFTs, LPCC, LPC, and LCSWs. SoulCollage Inc. SoulCollage Inc. (Provider #133654) maintains responsibility for this program and its content. Although SoulCollage® is licensed for its courses to apply only for holders of California licenses: LMFT, LCSW, LPCC, LEP, holders of these licenses in other states have sometimes had success in persuading their Boards to allow these CEs to apply to their continuing education requirements.

The agency (CAMFT) which approves our CE provider license gives us permission to provide CEs that meet Continuing Education requirements for California therapy licenses, LMFT, LCSW, LPCC, LEP, but not licenses in other USA states. For CE hours in other states or licenses, you may submit the documentation provided to you to your local board for consideration of these hours for your own license requirements.

To purchase CEs for online Training, please complete this CE REQUEST FORM to receive instructions regarding payment of the $50 fee. CEs must be purchased prior to the first date of Training – No Exceptions. Please direct all questions regarding CEs to Training@soulcollage.com.

SoulCollage® Facilitator Training Goals and Learning Objectives
Goals
  1. Prepare therapists to facilitate the SoulCollage® expressive arts method competently and confidently with clients, using their intuition and imagination (utilizing images, gestalt, and community support) as demonstrated and evaluated in participant role-plays, vignettes, questions, and homework.
  2. Prepare therapists to be able to explain the method of SoulCollage®, assess prospective beneficiaries of this method, and identify in what ways a client may need encouragement to best utilize the method.
Objectives
  1. When describing SoulCollage® to clients, the therapist will be able to list and describe the four suits of a SoulCollage® deck.
  2. When facilitating SoulCollage® with individuals, the therapist will be able to demonstrate utilization of a gestalt process to speak from a card using the “I Am One Who…” prompt and to receive guidance in answer to a life question from that part of the client as demonstrated in discussion, homework answers to questions, and breakout groups monitored by Training Assistants.
  3. The therapist participant will learn and be able to write, explain, or discuss three ethical principles (such as scope of competence, scope of practice, safety, non-exploitation of clients, and dual relationship) in CAMFT’s Ethical Guidelines and other ethical guidelines for licensed therapists, as demonstrated in participants’ small group and large group discussion of experiential vignettes designed to apply these ethical principles particularly to work conducted with the SoulCollage® method and in answers to the homework questions.
  4. The therapist will be able to name three values inherent in the SoulCollage® method in their homework answers, which include inclusivity, diversity, integrity, cooperation and demonstrate these values in participation in discussions, homework questions, and role plays, so that they are prepared to create a safe and welcoming container for a client from any ethnic, sexual identity, gender identity, or religious group.

Art Therapists – The ATCB (Art Therapy Credentials Board) has for a long time accepted SoulCollage® Facilitator Training CEs for continuing education credit for ATR-BCs, because these courses were accepted for continuing education credits by the California Board of Behavioral Sciences mental health licensure board for LMFTs, LCSWs, LPCCs, and LEPs. Participants who need CEs for ATR-BC licenses, please check with the ATCB.

If you have reason (e.g., you are a student or hold a different license) to request a Continuing Education Certificate, we are able to supply that Certificate for 24 class hours of education, but we cannot assure that it will be accepted by any other entity other than the Board of Behavioral Sciences of California.

For those Boards who may not be familiar with SoulCollage® and its therapeutic benefits, we offer the following supplemental information:

A paper describing “Theoretical Basis and the Therapeutic Elements of the SoulCollage® Method” may lend credibility to your request for other boards’ acceptance of CA CEs for courses that apply the SoulCollage® method to therapeutic topics. Another article that may be useful is “Using SoulCollage® in Psychotherapy” by Katherine L. Ziegler, Ph.D.
